STORY IDEAS - CHOOSE FROM ONE OF THE FOLLOWING FOR EDIT PROJECT 1.

Idea #1 - EVANGEL TEAMS AND ORGANIZATIONS:
Do a feature story on the routines and progress of a student organization or team. Who is involved? How is it organized? Who is the advisor or coach? How do they operate? How often do they meet or practice? What is a practice session like? Have they done anything special lately? What is coming up in their schedule? How do students deal with the time crunch and expectations? What are the qualifications to be a part?

Idea #2 - SPECIAL EVENT AT A LOCAL CHURCH:
Do a story on an event or function sponsored by a local church or religious organization. Events such as paper drives, marathons, dramatic shows, food giveaways, and other community events. The story would not appeal to a wide audience if the church event is a special speaker or prayer meeting. These are common occurrences all over town. Choose something the community would like to hear about. Interview the pastor, leader, director, etc. plus people involved or members of congregation.

Idea #3 - HELP FOR STRUGGLING STUDENTS:
Do a feature story on the help Evangel students can get from the Academic Resource Center, the Write Place, and other areas on campus. Discuss some of the myths of homework, study, and cramming. Find a couple students who have struggled with their grades and found ways to cope and improve. What are ways an academic advisor can help? Interview staff, faculty, students, and assistants.

Idea #4 - KEEPING HEALTHY:
Do a story on the importance of students taking better care of themselves. Do students get enough sleep? Do they eat right? Should they exercise? How does living in a dorm affect the student's ability to live a healthy lifestyle? Talk to the school nurse, wellness director, physical ed. teachers, students, athletes, etc.

Idea #5 - DORM ROOM INSPECTIONS:
Do a feature story on how students should keep their rooms clean and organized for room inspection. Talk with RDs, RAs, and students about how room inspection is carried out. What are the types of violations most cited? Are there students who do a great job keeping things clean? Who is having problems? How often is room inspection? Do students get fined? Are there any unusual stories about room inspections? What are the ways students can deal with this problem? Can you go along on a room inspection with camera? Make sure to shoot some footage outside for context.

Idea #6 - SPECIAL EVENT ON CAMPUS:
Do a feature story on a campus event that takes place in time to complete the assignment. The event should be open to the entire campus or a significant number of students involved. The purpose of the event, how it occurred, who came, etc. all can be explored. Make sure to interview the leaders involved in the event as well as people who came to participate. If the event is too close to the project deadline, you won't get it done, so keep that in mind. There is no extension on the deadline because you chose to do cover an event that was not timely for the assignment.
